Obituary

Melusine (Mila) Liebau, died peacefully at the age of 89, with family by her side and with her in spirit.
She was born in Romania in 1933, fleeing with her family when she was 6 years old from the only home
she knew, before the Russian military invaded their region. Her family left in a covered wagon to an
unknown destination and future. After six years their journey finally ended and they made their home
in Hollen, Germany.

The Church in her community was providing opportunities for young women to travel to Canada to
become Nannies and to clean homes. Mila wanted to see the world and traveled by herself on a ship to
a new country and with great hope. Not long after being in Canada, she met Hans, who stole her heart
on the dance floor, and they were married 4 months later. They were married for 62 years, until his
passing in 2021. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and placed
family above all else.

Mila and Hans eventually moved to Michigan in 1968, and in her younger years she loved to dance, play
pinochle, tend to her garden, and bowl. They were also always ready for the next costume party! They
were a couple that were constantly together and also loved spending time on their boat, navigating the
waters of Lake St. Clair and other nearby lakes.

Once her four grandchildren were born, nothing made her happier than spending time with them. They
would go feed the ducks and pick fruit to make jam. However, the best part of their time together
would be the sleepovers! Oma was always there if one of them were sick, sad, or just needed a hug.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Sandy and Troy Farley; grandchildren Kendall (Bryant)
Lagasse, Luke Farley, Darbee Farley, and Teague Farley. She was also thrilled at having two great
grandsons, Levi and Lake Lagasse.

Family was her world and she tried to do everything she could to make that world beautiful and filled
with love. That is how she will be remembered. Service Details.
