Yarington, Maybelle 9/13/1935 - 4/18/2017 Grand Rapids Our dearest mother, Maybelle Ann Yarington (Davis) peacefully passed away in her childhood home on April 18, 2017, in Grand Rapids, Michigan at the age of 81 years. Maybelle is survived by her husband David Yarington; children Gwendolyn Faasen (Richard Troll), Margaret Faasen (Kenneth Arey), and Jon Faasen (Ruth); grandchildren Alycia Egan (Mark) and Bradford Gilde; brother James Davis and sister Grace Davis; nieces, nephews and cousins. David's children John Yarington (Deborah) and Susan Stange (Jason). David's granddaughters Alexa and Molly, and Ruth's daughters Jessica and Brianna. Maybelle was born on September 13, 1935, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Maybelle attended Coopersville High School, Kalamazoo College and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Eastern Connecticut State University. Maybelle's love for her family and home, and the natural world filled her heart. She loved to cook and bake, feed wild birds, and became an inspired Naturalist, volunteering at the Blandford Nature Center and Window in the Woods (Sun City, Florida). She summered at her cabin at Sebec Lake, Maine, and took a memorable trip to Wales to trace her ancestral roots. Maybelle's talent in art was celebrated by her family and friends as she often painted and sketched wildlife and knitted beautiful afghans. Maybelle is prededed in death by her dear mother and father, Stanley and Amelia Davis, brother Jack Davis (Marillyn) and first husband and father of her children, Jon Faasen. A celebration of her life will be scheduled at a later date. Contributions can be made in Maybelle's honor to The Blandford Nature Center and Faith Hospice. The family would like to thank Faith Hospice caregivers for their dedicated care.
