Maxine Ruth Veldman, age 92, of Jenison, MI, passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Metro
Health Hospital.
Maxine was born on May 25, 1929 in Grand Haven, MI to Fayette and Ruth (Rowell) Decker.
Left to mourn her passing are her children: Jan (Bill) Zomberg, Cathy Short, Bob (Julie) Veldman, and Jeff
(Deb) Popma; numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Veldman; daughter, Carol Lane Strickland; sons: Jim,
John, and Joe Popma; and grandsons: Jeffery J. Popma and Don Zomberg.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Ofield Funeral Home,
4500 Kalamazoo Ave SE, Kentwood. A visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Service Details. Visitation
