Obituary

Maxine Delores (Robards) Davis was born on Friday, March 30, 1934, to George and Willie Maude Robards, in Robards, KY, joining the family as the youngest of five. Her humble and modest roots in Robards gave her a foundation marked by diligence, perseverance, and a deep commitment to family. On September 6, 1952 Maxine was united in Holy matrimony to George W Davis, Sr.. building a 41-year life of love and partnership. To this union four children were born, Joan Alfreda, Edward, George Jr. and Judy Ann. In the early fifties, the family united with New Hope Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Pastor John V. Williams. She served faithfully in numerous ministries including teaching, cooking, clerical and administrative. She was both a servant and leader for over 35 years. Sister Maxine Davis also found connections at Christ Our Life Church, Madison Square CRC, Oakdale Park CRC; and Cascade DOC. She was most proud of being a charter member of From The Heart Christian Community Church, planted by her son, Pastor George Davis Jr.. Her love for the Lord was evident through her generosity, commitment to prayer, study of scripture and training up her family in the ways of the Lord. Maxine Delores Davis is preceded in death by her parents, George and Willie Maude Robards, husband, Mr. "Bill", siblings: Lozelle Robards, Harold Robards, Gilda Johnson and Betty Chandler, children, Edward Davis and Joan Alfreda.
