Maurita Beth Holcomb, age 73, of Lansing, Michigan passed away peacefully on Friday, September 24, 2021. She was born June 9, 1948 in Lansing, the daughter of Lloyd and Wilma (Vinsel) Buller.
Maurita was a compassionate and loving soul who was married to her husband Barry for 53 years. She was employed by the Loomis Law Firm as a Legal Assistant for over 40 years and enjoyed retirement with her family. Regardless of the distance, Maurita made sure to connect with them. She was an active member at Mt. Hope Presbyterian Church serving God and the community. She genuinely cared about others and took the time to get to know all the people in her life. Maurita made people feel special. She shared her baked goods, mailed cards, and sent many care packages filled with her love. Maurita was passionate about nature, and she enjoyed working in her garden, hiking on nature trails, and spending vacation time outdoors. Maurita also took great joy in actively participating in Book Club, practicing yoga, and listening to music. Maurita made the world a better place for being in it, and her presence will be sincerely missed.
Surviving are her husband, Barry Holcomb; son, Bradd (Elizabeth) Holcomb; daughter, Tiffaney Holcomb; granddaughters, Isabel Holcomb, Sofia Holcomb, Lucinda Holcomb, Catiana Romelus, Solette Romelus; and grandsons, Elijah Romelus and Gabriel Romelus.
The memorial service will take place on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Hope Presbyterian Church, 301 W. Jolly Road. The service will be streamed at https://www.facebook.com/mthopepres/ for those who are unable to attend in-person.
