IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Matthew James
Paffhausen
June 23, 1959 – May 28, 2025
On May 28, 2025, Matthew James Paffhausen, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and cherished memories. Matt was preceded by his parents, Loris C. Paffhausen, Joan B. (Lentes) Paffhausen, and his brother, Mike Paffhausen.
Matt is survived by his daughter, Cassandra Paffhausen, and her two children, James and Leila, who brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his siblings (his original tribe); Gail (Bob) McNinch, David (Stacy) Paffhausen, Cindy (Jerry) Sytsma, Mark (Kim) Paffhausen, Barbara Tremblay, and Kelly (Jill) Paffhausen. As a devoted uncle, Matt shared a special bond with his many nieces and nephews: Anne, Michael, Jennifer, Eric, Aaron, Ryan, Christine, Emily, Jacob, Gabrielle, Catherine and Alexandra, along with his great nieces and nephews.
A proud member of the Moose Lodge, Matt built strong connections with his community there, forming friendships that enriched his life. He held dear his lifelong childhood friends, Larry, John and Mike, along with many others from the 43rd Street neighborhood where he grew up. In his later years, his dear friend Diane provided loving care and a steadfast bond that ran deep. Matt also made many friends at work and greatly enjoyed his work family at Wyser. His sense of humor and devotion to his family and friends was unwavering.
Matt found joy and relaxed on the golf course, tinkering with classic cars, hunting for treasures at garage sales, and nurturing his many plants with a tender hand. His love of family, wit and generosity made him someone we all cherished and will hold dear to our hearts.
A celebration of Matt's life will be held at the Wyoming Moose Lodge (2630 Burlingame Ave SW, Wyoming 49509) on June 27, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 pm. Help us celebrate Matt's memory, which will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
