Mary Elizabeth Nienstedt of Portage, MI passed away on April 25,2023 after a 3 year hard fought battle with breast & pancreatic cancer & heart disease. She was born to Jack & Betty Nienstedt on June 11,1948.

Mary Beth grew up as the middle child of six in Grosse Pointe, MI. After graduating from St Paul High School, she attended Nazareth College in Kalamazoo, then received her Masters in Nursing at UCLA, Los Angeles, CA.

Mary Beth worked diligently for 50 years as a psychiatric nurse practitioner in Detroit & Western Michigan area. Her commitment as an advocate was to her clients & mentoring peers. She was dedicated and made great strides in the mental health communities of Kalamazoo, Hastings, Coldwater, Battle Creek, & Owosso.

Mary Beth was a loving sister, aunt, & great-aunt. As a devoted cat-mom, she loved animals. During her free time, she enjoyed quilting & loved to gather with friends at a restaurant to catch up. Everyone enjoyed her firecracker sense of humor. She lived life with style in the fast lane with no regrets & a strong will.

A Celebration of Life will take place at 10:00am,  June 19th, at St Paul Church, 157 Lakeshore Rd. Grosse Pte, MI.
