Mary Jane (Rork) Neibarger was born March 29, 1941 in Muskegon, MI to Jack and Fern (Wilson) Rork. She passed away June 3, 2024 at Legacies Assisted Living in Caledonia, MI with family by her side.
Mary attended Muskegon Community College, where she met the love of her life, Arthur Neibarger. Mary and Art were married August 25, 1962. Mary worked at Michigan State University after they were married and put Art through MSU. They started out their young married life in Owosso, MI where they had two children, Eric and Susan, before moving to Tecumseh, MI in 1971.
Mary was very involved in volunteer activities including Welcome Wagon and tutoring ESL students. When Tecumseh High School lost sports due to a millage failure, Mary formed "Show the Kids We Care" with Art and were able to fundraise and get sports back.
Mary and Art loved to travel and camp and once Art retired, they'd hit the road in their fifth wheel and head to Naples, FL in the winter and then to Ludington, MI in the summer where they could spend time on their beloved Lake Michigan. Mary was also an exceptional cook and I think every member of her family had a favorite dish she made.
Mary will be deeply missed by her loving family. She is survived by her son Eric (Debrea) Neibarger, daughter Susan (Ron) McLennan; grandchildren Benjamin Neibarger, Mallory (Calvin) Moyer, Spencer and Jack McLennan; great-grandson Joshua Moyer. She is also survived by her sister Margaret Darby and brother Michael (Carolyn) Rork. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband Art, and sister Ellen.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations can be made in Mary's name to the Alzheimer's Association or the Humane Society of Lenawee County.
