Mary Ann (Conner) Inman, passed away on September 26, 2026, at the age of 70. Although our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing she is now home with Jesus—the Lord she loved, trusted, and faithfully served throughout her life.
Mary Ann was born in Chicago to Shirley and Axel Conner, and grew up, worked and raised her family in the Chicago area and near Joliet, Illinois. She moved to Grand Haven twenty-five years ago, and built a life here centered on her faith, her family and her community. In Illinois, she worked for United Cerebral Palsy, a job she treasured because of its opportunity to serve others. In Grand Haven, she worked for ShorelineVision, enjoying getting to know the patients she supported. She had a beautiful way of giving pieces of herself to people she loved: crocheting and knitting thoughtful and creative gifts. She volunteered for years with Operation Christmas Child, providing joy to children around the world through shoeboxes of clothing, toys, school supplies and personal care items. She listened to Christmas music all year long. She was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Bears and White Sox, and was known in later years to waylay walking neighbors so she could pass treats to their dogs.
Family was Mary Ann’s greatest treasure. She loved her three daughters, Shannon (Scott), Becca (Bill), and Hannah, with a love that never wavered. She was a loving sister to Tom West and Liz Holtorf. She adored her grandchildren—Andrew (Ania), Harley, Arianna, Conner, Willow, and Parker—and treasured the special place each held in her heart.
A Visitation and Celebration of Mary Ann’s Life will be held on November 21, 2026, at the Allendale Baptist Church at 6262 Lake Michigan Drive. The family will welcome friends from 2-3 p.m. with the Celebration service starting at 3:30 p.m. Please join the family for a Chicago-style hot dog supper immediately following the service.
