Mary J. (McCormick) Haywood, 67, of Comstock Park, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2020, while at home. She was born May 29, 1953 in Kalamazoo to Kenneth and Ethyl Belle (Ansbury) McCormick.

She was preceded in death by father, Kenneth McCormick, mother, Ethyl Ansbury McCormick, sister, Barbra Jean Stephens, brother and sister-n-law, James "Jim" and Linda McCormick, nephew, James "Jimmy" McCormick Jr, and sister-n-law, Cathy McCormick.

Survivors are former husband, Dale Haywood, Brother, Kenneth "Mick" McCormick of Allegan; sisters, Ruth Wickland of Gobles, Elizabeth "Betsy" (Joe) Tutchton of Montrose, CO, and Linda McCormick of Rockport, TX; four nephews; nine nieces; and many great nieces and nephews.

Mary attended Plainwell Elementary, and graduated from Comstock High School in 1971. In 2009, she graduated with an associate degree in Business Administration from Grand Rapids Community College.

Mary had many things she enjoyed in her life. She was an avid reader and always had a book nearby. The Library knew her well. She loved baking and many named her cookies "the best ever". Mary was very hardworking and worked until the day she passed, but when she had time off she enjoyed traveling, hiking and watching Jeopardy. She cherished spending time with her family and close friends and was an instrumental part of those lives around her. We especially remember Mary for long discussions, working on puzzles, and many trips to North Carolina to see family and friends.
