(Oberlin) Duthler, Mary 5/22/1941 - 3/1/2022 Grand Rapids Mary (Oberlin) Duthler, aged 80, passed away into eternal life on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 after a year-long battle with breast cancer. She was being cared for by Ascension Home assisted living in Grand Rapids, MI. Mary was a devoted daughter, sister, (former) Dominican nun, wife, mother and friend. She earned a bachelors in education from Aquinas College and was an educator throughout her life. She exemplified the love, forgiveness, mercy and compassion of Jesus Christ to those who knew her. She loved deeply, a gift which caused people to warm to her quickly. Mary is preceded in death by her parents Paul & Geraldine (Roth) Oberlin, Edward Roth, (Earnest) Jack Roth, and William Duthler. She is survived by her sister Kale Ann (Oberlin) Reis, her children Colleen Mills, Michael, Mark and Lisa Duthler. Grandchildren Jonathon, Stephanie and Christopher Strotheide, Joseph Lemons-Duthler, and Mackenzie King. Great-grandchildren Kelise, CJ, Harper and Alainna. Memorial services will be on Saturday March 5th at St. Mary Magdalen Parish, 1253 52nd St. SE, Kentwood, MI 49508. A visitation will occur from 10:00AM-11:00AM, followed by a funeral Mass from 11:00AM-12:00PM.
