Mary Ann Driggers, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on July 22, 2026, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, at the age of 75. She was born on June 10, 1951, to Daniel and Mildred Detrow.

Mary loved her family dearly and found some of her greatest happiness in the time she spent with them. She was a devoted mother to Nicole, Kelly, and Shawn, and she especially cherished her role as a grandmother to Lexi, Michael, Anna, and Lauren.

Mary was funny, fiercely independent, and lived life on her own terms. She had a way of bringing laughter into the lives of those around her and enjoyed the simple pleasures that made life special. She loved tending to her beautiful flower garden and spending time with her grandchildren. She also loved visiting Ocean City, Maryland, where she enjoyed walking the boardwalk and spending time by the ocean. In the later years of her life, she especially enjoyed playing cards with her friends and sharing good conversation and laughter.

Mary was a woman of faith who loved Christ, and her faith was a meaningful part of her life. She also devoted many years to caring for others as a nurse, first working at Holland Home and later continuing that calling through her work in hospice. Caring for others was a natural part of who she was.

Mary was preceded in death by her former husband, Charles “Charlie” Driggers; her sister, Linda Klein; and her parents, Daniel and Mildred Detrow.

She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her laughter, independence, love for her family, and the many memories she created with those around her will remain with them always.

A memorial service celebrating Mary’s life will be held on August 15, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Faith Community Church of West Michigan. A luncheon will follow the service.
