We deeply mourn the loss of our loving, giving and compassionate wife, mother, grandma and dear friend. Marsha Hammer entered Heaven on February 13th, 2018 and was welcomed by her Savior Jesus Christ. Marsha is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Marian Cress. Marsha was a nurse for 41 years and worked with so many amazing people throughout her career. Marsha worked specifically for Spectrum Health as a nurse for 34 years in the Endoscopy Department taking care of countless patients. Marsha had a passion for people and love for helping others in need. Marsha was a member of John Knox Presbyterian Church for many years before serving as a Deacon for Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church. Marsha loved being a grandma to Brody and Brooklyn more than any other thing in the world. Marsha enjoyed traveling with Ron, her husband. Their adventures included cruises all over the world, Alaskan adventures, and golf trips with friends. Marsha enjoyed good conversations with countless friends, and even strangers. Marsha will be greatly missed by her husband, Ron of 42 years on May 8th and Brian and Sarah Hammer, Marsha's son and daughter-in-law. Marsha also will be deeply missed by her two grandchildren, Brody and Brooklyn Hammer. Marsha is survived by her brother, Bob and Tracy Cress along with her nieces, Kayla and Morgan Prestwood and her nephew Zach Cress. A time of visitation with the family will be held Friday, February 16 from 1 pm to 3 pm and 5 to 8 pm at Ofield Funeral Home 4500 Kalamazoo Ave SE, Kentwood, MI. A Funeral Service will be held on February 17 @ 11 am at Ofield Funeral Home with a visitation at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, gifts made be given to the Good Shepherd Church (6751 Avalon Dr SE, Caledonia, MI 49316)
