Obituary

Mark was a kind, generous soul. He loved his family fiercely and gave his all to his military service, serving in both the Army and Navy. He worked hard to provide all he could to support his family. He often gave to those around him, encouraged others to chase their dreams and provided judgement free love. Mark always had an ear to listen and a hug to warm the soul. He was kooky and silly, cracking jokes and telling stories. He ALWAYS knew who played that song. And who their brother was. And what their mother's maiden name was. He could almost always be found listening to music, enjoying a cheesy horror movie or drooling over Iron Chef. In his younger years he enjoyed bowling, pool and playing guitar. A proud Navy Chef on the USS Whidbey Island. He often fancied grabbing the mic and blowing the speakers with his AC/DC impression. He was regularly too loud, too much and bigger than life. A mountain of a man; in an itty-bitty package. Mark will be lovingly remembered by his daughter and son-in-law, Lorraine and Alex Kotlewski; siblings, Robert and Laurie Rittenhouse, Rhonda Rittenhouse; nieces and nephews, Robert Rittenhouse Jr., Danny and Carrie Isley, Ronnie and Kelli Isley, Cody and Amanda Isley, November Storms and Kristal Storms; aunts, Myrna Smith and Janet (Jim) O'brien; uncle, Kurt Rittenhouse. A cookout and campfire as a Celebration of Mark's Life will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 6pm - text or call Lorraine at 231-497-9824 for location information.
