Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved father, Mario, on July 14, 2026, at the age of 74.

Born on October 1, 1951, Mario lived a life rooted in kindness, compassion, and a true free spirit. An old soul at heart, he believed in treating everyone with respect and love. His favorite saying, "Peace. Love. Dove.", wasn't just something he said—it was how he lived. He found joy in the simple things: fishing at Hardy Pond and quiet lakes, gardening, camping beneath the stars, and spending time with the people he loved most. He had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and loved bringing family and friends together for backyard gatherings filled with laughter, music, and memories. He believed in tough love and was never afraid to speak his mind. His honesty was sincere, and those who knew him understood it always came from a place of love and a desire to help others.

Mario was married to Linda in 1972, and together they shared 33 years of marriage before divorcing in 2005. Together they built a family and raised four daughters, a legacy that remained one of the greatest blessings of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Roland; his sister, Margaret (Dave) Duncan; and his infant brother, Christopher.

He is lovingly survived by his sister, Sherry (Brian) Buikema; his daughters, Angel, Amy (Dan) Hill, Anita, and Amber; his grandchildren Jasmine, Jasper, Jordan, Gretchen, Britany, Dana, Kimberly, Amanda, Shayla, Ian, Justin, Courtney, and Timmy; several cherished great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; extended family; and countless friends.

Mario's greatest joy was his family. Nothing made him happier than watching it grow and spending time with those he loved.

In keeping with Mario's wishes, family and friends will gather at his home to celebrate his life, sharing stories, laughter, music, and the memories that made him so special. It is exactly how he wanted to be remembered—a life filled with love, peace, friendship, and family.

Dad, thank you for your unconditional love, your wisdom, your laughter, and the countless memories you've given us. Though you are no longer by our side, your love and spirit will live on in all of us.

Forever Loved. Forever Missed. Forever Remembered.

Peace. Love. Dove.
