Obituary

Marilyn passed from this existence into the next on Monday, June 26, just three days after her 90th
birthday. She was proceeded in death by her first born, Mary Rose Braciak, and by all her wonderful
siblings, siblings-in-law, and their spouses: Robert (Marie) Fischer, Richard Fischer, Fred (Christine)
Fischer, Donald Fischer, Elaine (Wesley) Hill, Shirley (George) Lienhard, Mamie (Karl) Kendall, Charles
(Betty) Herrmann, and Leo (Lucille) Herrmann.
Marilyn is survived by her adoring husband of 72 years, Benny, and their children Deborah (Thomas)
Markham, James (Rosalie) Herrmann, Denise (Allen Clark) Saganski, and Thomas Braciak; by their
grandchildren David Braciak, Elizabeth (Kevin Partridge) Braciak, Andrew (Laura Mahone) Markham,
Mary Rose (Jacob Gilsbach) Herrmann, Leeann (Maxwell) Sadler, Caitlin (Nathan) Waldorf, and Zachary
(Anna Mayne) Saganski; and by their great-grandchildren Donovan, Annabelle, & Leonidas Braciak, and
Charlotte Herrmann Gilsbach. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who always had kind
words for our parents, with especially close cousins Jacki (Robert Dickinson) Lammert and Brian (Becky)
Fischer.
While most of their dear friends passed before them, their friends who remain never lost touch with
Mom and Dad. All these good people were never far from their memories, thoughts, and prayers.
The family wishes to thank the following for caring for Marilyn through the last few years of her journey:
Dr. Eryn Quinn, and the teams from Cardinal Care Kentwood, Hometown Pharmacy (Kentwood), &
Interim Hospice. We appreciate you all helping us to keep Mom and Dad together for so long.
A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, August 4, at Holy Redeemer Parish in
Jenison, with long-time friend Rev. Phong Pham officiating. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery
in Wyoming, MI.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider a donation in Marilyn's honor to one of the charities she
supported up until the end: ACLU, Planned Parenthood, Doctors Without Borders, Oxfam, or St. Jude
Children's Research Hospital. We're proud to say that Mom was all about equal rights and taking care of
people in need.
Final words are from Dad: "Thank God for the UAW and call someone you love today."
