Marilyn Joy (Pioch) Gilfillan, age 87, peacefully left to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, Dec. 8th, 2021, surrounded by family at her home in Pierson, Mi.

Marilyn loved the Lord and her family. She placed others first and was always willing to give a helping hand whenever and wherever needed. Her faith and love of her Lord Jesus was an inspiration to everyone fortunate enough to be in her life. Her strength and faith were unwavering during this difficult time.

Marilyn's ultimate passion was her active participation in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by them all.

Surviving are her Children: Kevin and Diane (Nakkula) Gilfillan, Scott and Kellie (Murawski) Gilfillan, son-in-law Mark Breight. Grandchildren: Matthew and Amy (Augustine) Breight, Christa (Breight) and Paul Shortt, Steven Gilfillan, Carolyn (Gilfillan) and Andrew Clark, Sean Gilfillan, Megan (Gilfillan) and Lenny Scheuer, Zach Gilfillan. Great-grandchildren: Luke Breight, Gabe Breight, William Shortt, Elizabeth Shortt, Xander Gilfillan, Alaina Scheuer, Carter Scheuer, Kaleb Scheuer, and Cameron Clark. Brother Dale and Patti (Rowland) Pioch.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents Irvin and Freda (Cischke) Pioch, her husband William, her daughter Heather Breight (Gilfillan), her granddaughter Ashley Gilfillan and her sister Janet (Pioch) MacDonald.

'Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.' Matthew 25:23.

A memorial will be planned in the Detroit area sometime after the New Year. The family sends their sincere thanks to the Health Care and Faith Hospice workers who participated in the different stages of Marilyn's journey.
