Marilyn Jane Bishop went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 24, 2025.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents Ted and Lois Apgar, her daughter Dawn Mottweiler, son-in-law Scottie Mottweiler, son-in-Law Martin Nunez, and her brother-in-law Art Dawson.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband and soulmate James Bishop, her children Susan Brander (Alan Brander), Raeanne Nunez, and Gordon Rosen. By her grandchildren Courtney Nunez, Martina Nunez, Leilani DeVries (Ryan DeVries), Delaney Brander (Parker Maddox), and her great grandson Alexander Ariza. Also, by her sisters-in-law Martha Dawson and Irene Skala (Chuck Skala) and multiple special nieces and nephews and friends Mary Boosler and Kyezie Bwanangela.

Marilyn deeply loved her family and had a heart for others. She could often be found in nature or in her garden surrounded by flowers. Marilyn was passionate about the little things in life like crafting and going birthday shopping with her grandkids, finding treasures in thrift stores, watching birds, discovering new places, or enjoying some ice cream.

Her husband Jim cherished Marilyn's sense of adventure, her heart for the disadvantaged, her love for her family and friends and the joy they shared in their everyday life together. Marilyn will be missed greatly but is now at peace in the arms of Jesus.

An open visitation will be held at Ofield Funeral Home on Thursday, August 28 from 5 to 8 pm. Her family will celebrate her life at a private Christian service.
