Marilyn Joyce Baker, 86 years old, beloved mother to three children of Wyoming, MI, passed away peacefully in her home, on March 8, 2025, leaving a void in her family hearts and souls.

Marilyn was born in Muskegon, MI in 1938 to Jack and Helen Bonjernoor, and was the oldest of four children. Marilyn attended Muskegon High School, Class of 1956, before marrying the love of her life Fred Baker. Marilyn was a devoted stay-at-home mother before working for Kentwood Public Schools, retiring after 19 years of service in 1998, making many friends along the way.

Marilyn was a devoted mother to David, Robert, and Debra, her pride and joys. She always said their birth changed her life for the better, and they felt that in the love and support she provided. Marilyn loved everything Michigan State and bled green and white. Go GREEN!

Marilyn took special joy in patriating and supporting her children and grandchildren school and sporting activities and had fond memories of supporting thousands of football games, wrestling meets, competitive cheer meets, soccer games, and school plays.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Walter Fred Baker, parents Jack and Helen Bonjernoor, in-laws Walt and Agnes Baker, brother Jerry Bonjernoor and brother in-law Charles Brammer. She is survived by David and Pat Baker, Kelsey and Steve Sager, Jack and Poppy Sager, Bob Baker, Daniel and Julie Baker, Emmie Baker, Theo Baker, Lexi Baker, Cami and Nick Ellingboe, Casey and Savanah Baker, Mylah Baker, Debra and Javier Rivera, Gabe Rivera, Gavin Rivera, Jim and Karen Bonjernoor, Betsy and Kevin Schappert, Marlene Bramer, and countless nieces and nephews and friends who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.

Visitation is 10:00 -11:00 a.m. on 3/14/2025 at Ofield Funeral Home 4500 Kalamazoo Ave SE, Kentwood, MI with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 11:00 a.m.
