Marie Dorothy Baxter was born August 14, 1938 in Byron Center, MI to Sylvester and Isabella Selvig. She was called to the Lord in Heaven on Sunday May 28th, 2023. Marie was proceeded in death by her husband of thirty-seven years, Kenneth Baxter and her two sons, Tim and Mick Hendges, son-in-law Brian Johnson, sister Karen Edema and brother Lloyd Selvig.

Marie is survived by her children: Jeff (Vonda) Hendges, Penny Johnson, Kris (Tim) Johnston, and Dawn (Don) Barwick. Grandchildren: Rick (Amber) Hendges, Brittany (Cory) Pike, Amy (Grant) Gould, Amanda Moore and Paul, Michelle (John) Vandenburg, Jason (Ashley) Hendges, Justin (Cara) Hendges, Mary (Ted) Reichert and Jesse (Michelle) Howard; as well as twenty great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Sisters: Pearl (Ed) Trojanowski, Diane (Rich) Boyles. Brothers: David (Sue) Selvig, and Daryl (Grace) Selvig.

Marie enjoyed a full and beautiful life! Marie and her husband Ken ran and owned K&M Redi Mix for several years before moving back to Byron Center. Marie had the voice of an angel and enjoyed singing in the choir anywhere she was. She loved spending winters in Florida and summers here in Michigan.  After the passing of Ken, Marie moved to Cedar Springs to be with her children. She had the time of her life getting close with all of her grandchildren and greats, as she called them.

We will all have a hard time letting her go, but we will cherish the many memories she imprinted on our lives. Rest in peace Marie, until we meet again.

Services will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at St Sebastian Church, 9408 Wilson Avenue Southwest, Byron Center, Michigan. Visitation will be held 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with a service from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with a luncheon following.
