Margot (Spencer) VanKampen, of Holland and Spring Lake, MI, passed away peacefully at home on February 10, 2022.
She was preceded in death by parents, Howard and Margaret Spencer; Spouse, Donald VanKampen; brother, Scott Spencer, sister, Fran Ignasiack; brothers in law Robert Vogelsong and Ronald Ignasiak.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Lynn Spencer, (Tom Younker), of Grand Haven, Scott VanKampen of Holland, and Tim VanKampen of Holland; sister, Peggy Vogelsong of Grand Haven; granddaughter, Nicole, (Graham) Dethmers, of Ann Arbor; grandson, Mitchell VanKampen of Holland; great grandson, Mason Lohman of Holland; grandson Curtis, (Jasmin), Mulder, granddaughter, Penelope Mulder, of Fort Meyers, Fl; And several nieces and nephews.
Margot spent much of her time in her early years working in the family grocery store in Spring Lake. (Spencers). She later had a successful career in hospitality management for over thirty years. She was a long time member of First United Methodist Church in Holland. Margot led her daughters campfire girls group from bluebirds to horizon. She also was a member of the
Holland Garden Club where she won several blue ribbons.
Margot was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She dedicated her life to her family. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her yet she will continue to inspire us all.
