Obituary

Margo Jean Way of Battle Creek, MI, (formerly of Bellevue), age 66, passed away on November 13, 2021. She was born to Robert and Margaret (Coyne) on January 24, 1955, in Assyria, MI.
Our mother found Christ later in life which brought her the peace and freedom she was seeking. Margo had a unique and generous spirit. She was the queen of inappropriate comments and was never afraid to speak her mind. However, she was also generous, empathetic, humble and kind and would give away her last dollar to help someone else, which she literally did often.
Margo was the oldest of 6 children; growing up in Bellevue, MI. She graduated from Bellevue schools, returning to complete her diploma before age 30, while working and raising 3 children as a single parent. She worked as a kitchen/bar manager in several area businesses (i.e. Rendezvous, Idle Hour, American Legion) until becoming disabled from osteoarthritis and issues with chronic pain. She spent her later years helping raise and enjoying her 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Margo loved harder than anyone and taught her children to love unconditionally, stand strong in our beliefs, speak up for those who can't, and how to use humor to lighten the load of pain.
Margo found her joy in cooking for others. She was also very resourceful and creative. She loved to bedazzle everything from her clothes and purses to her living room walls. She would turn everyday household items into gems until her eye sight wouldn't allow it. This also ended her life time relationship with Penny Press word puzzles. For many years, she believed she could easily survive on a Penny Press Puzzle book, 2 erasable pens, a pack of Mentos, a 2 liter of Diet Pepsi and a pack Benson and Hedges slim-menthol. She also was confident she could successfully complete emergency surgery or solve a cold case due to her years of experience watching ER, Blue Bloods, House, and NYPD Blue. She did advocate and fight to change the way our community responds to women in DV situations while volunteering for Safe Place Women's Shelter in the 1990's.
She was married to Jack L. Way in 1974 until divorcing in 1982. She never remarried.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Nichole (Ronald) Henson-Way, Eric (Carmen) Way; Christina (Michael) Eakins; Katie (Matthew) McCauley; her 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren all of Battle Creek, MI. She is also survived by her 5 brothers Ronald, Michael, Randy, Thomas, and Jerry Clark of Bellevue, MI; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents (Robert Clark 1991, Margaret Clark 2016) and 2 sister-in-laws Linda (Spaulding) Clark of Bellevue, MI and Peggy Clark of Battle Creek, MI.
Also remembering Margo are special friends including Sharon and Rodney Stout who were her companions and caregivers during the past 2 years and her grandpups Winnie and Aries
