Joyce was born on March 14th, 1939, in North Branch, Michigan to Florence and Everett Ferrier.

Joyce passed away on March 27, 2022 quietly at home with Chuck at her side, as she went to meet her Lord and Savior. During 64 years of marriage, Joyce and Chuck had three boys Paul (Roberta) Shiels,

Great-Grandchildren Ayla, Siah
Grandchildren Craig (Jennifer) Shiels,
Great-Grandchildren Nolan, Reed,
Grandchildren Kimberly (Brad) Wells.
Tim (Lorraine) Shiels,
Grandchildren Luc Shiels (Amanda),
Great-Grandchildren Skyla, Luc Jr.,
Grandchildren Jac Shiels (Catalina),
Great-Grandchildren Austin, Alexus, Danica, Felix, Mackenzie.
Grandchildren Drew (Erin) Steghuis, Great-Grand Harley Rae,
Mark (Deborah) Shiels
Step Grandchildren Nicole Howe (Steve),
Abbie (Sylvester) Griffin Howe.
Also her brother Don (Ann) Ferrier, sisters Shirley (Don) Byer, Phyllis (Kenny) Wardell.

Over 25 years they also fostered many other children, until one special child came along and they decided they wanted to keep (Jim) whom they adopted. After fostering, Joyce was a nanny for a special family she held dear to her heart.

Joyce was proceeded in death by her sister-in -aw Ann Ferrier, brother-in-law Don Byer, step-mother Florence Ferrier, father Everett Ferrier, son Jim Shiels and mother Florence Ferrier.

The family will greet friends at 11am on April 9th, 2022 at Orangeville Baptist Church (6921 Marsh Rd., Plainwell, MI 49080) A luncheon will be held after the service.
