Obituary

Margaret Elizabeth King, age 75, passed away on September 30, 2020 at home surrounded by her family. She was born to John Henry and Elizabeth Morris on October 23, 1944 in Birmingham, Alabama. Her family moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana when she was a little girl. She moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1968 and she married Ray King in 1972. She worked at General Motors as an Inspector for 11 years.

Margaret loved music, singing, dancing and spending time with her family. Margaret also loved to sew and made most of her clothes that she wore. She owned her own business called Pillows Etc. where she made her own designer pillows. Most of all, she loved Jehovah and she dedicated her life to doing his will and symbolized it by water baptism on September 11, 1971. She was an active member of the Grand Rapids North Congregation where she regularly pioneered throughout the years.

Although her health was failing her in her final days, she remained faithful to Jehovah to the very end. She left a huge mark on her family, friends and caregivers - one we will never forget. She will truly be missed.

She is survived by her 7 children: Henry Earl (Robin) Dunbar, James Earl (Mary) Dunbar, Nathaniel Johnson, Elizabeth Duwanna Dunbar, Ray Anthony (Shawn) Dunbar, Kimberly Tesha King, Marlo Elena King; sister, Diane McGraw; 24 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She's also survived by her spiritual daughter, Krissy (Dave) VanHouten. She was preceded in death by her parents John Henry and Elizabeth Morris and a grandson, James Earl Dunbar Jr.

On behalf of the family we would like to thank all the friends who helped with Mom's care, those who sent cards, flowers, food and especially the prayers. We'd also like to thank
Lemmon Holton Cancer Pavilion and Spectrum Health Hospice Team.

A memorial service will be held via Zoom on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at 2:30 pm. Please contact the family via text message at 616-337-1610 for login information.
