Margaret Maxine Gazella, 94, passed away in Grand Rapids on April 14th, 2018. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Richard, her daughter, Kathy, and all her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children; Gary (Bonnie), Gail (Tim) Poterack, grandchildren; Jamie Coker, Jodie (Ryan) Schilling, Paul (Marla) Poterack, Kelly Poterack, Tammy (Bobby) Grant, great-grandchildren; Morgyn, Nick, Alyvia, Gabby, Brayden, AJ, and Sloane. Margaret will be forever remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family especially remembers how thoughtful, caring, and generous she was in every way to her family. Margaret was also very involved at First Park Congregational Church. She was a member for nearly 75 years, a Sunday school teacher, and married her husband at the church. Margaret was also very close to her Central High Class of 1941 always attending reunions. A funeral service will be held for Margaret at Park Church, 10 E Park Pl NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503, on Saturday, April 21st at 11am, Rev. Todd Petty presiding. Visitation will be held at Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo Ave SE, Kentwood, MI 49508, on Friday, April 20th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. The family would like to give a special thanks to all the staff at American House on Eastern and 60th, especially the River Stone and Field Stone units for their care and support and a special thanks as well to Kindred Hospice for their care of Margaret. Memorial contributions in Margaret's honor can be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or First Park Congregational Church.
