Obituary

Margaret Freund passed away peacefully on November 11, 2024, at the age of 76. Born on October 13, 1948, to the late Rev. Leslie and Mary Miller, Margaret's life was a testament to her unwavering faith, her dedication to her family, and her commitment to serving others.

Margaret grew up alongside her late brother, Clifford and her sister, Ruth, where Margaret brought warmth and guidance into their home. Her journey through life was shared with her beloved husband, Kurt, an ordained Presbyterian minister, with whom she built a legacy of love and service. Together, they raised a family that includes their children, Kristen, Kurt (Kyle), Kent, Michelle, and Wes, who in turn blessed them with the joy of being a grandmother to Maykayla, Willa, Taylor, Bailey, Niko, Bek, Sean, Kimberly, Abigail, and Rachel. Her love extended to her great- grandchildren, Augustine, Celestia, and Oceania. She is also survived by the spouses of her children Eric, Val, Cathy, Tanya, and Nikki. Margaret helped raise and was very close to her nephews Chad and Randy. Her love for them continues to flow into their families.

Margaret's passion for teaching and helping others started young and was enhanced by her high levels of education earned at Alma College and Eastern Michigan University with two master's degrees in education and counseling. Her professional life reflected her personal values, as she joined her husband 35 years ago in Christian ministry and co-founded "Living Solutions for Seniors". Through this endeavor, Margaret touched the lives of countless seniors, providing them with support, resources, and the love of Christ.

As we remember Margaret, we are reminded of the beauty of a life well-lived and the power of a heart dedicated to serving others. Her story does not end with her passing but continues in the lives of those she loved and served. May her memory be a blessing and an inspiration to us all.

A celebration of Margaret's life will occur this coming April at Frederik Meijer Gardens during the "Butterflies Are Blooming" event. The date of the celebration will be announced as plans develop.
