Obituary

October 9, 2011 Service: October 29, 2011 Margaret St. Clair Hazard (Peggy) Filion, age 93, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 9, 2011. Peggy was a longtime member of the Women's City Club, and very involved with the Babies Welfare Guild and Make-A-Wish Foundation. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Joseph (Jack), and her brothers, William and Theodore Hazard. Peggy will be lovingly remembered by her children: Gail (Randy) Pritchard, Elsbeth (David) Sawyer, Maribeth (Eric) Nelson, Joni (Roger) Ganger, Andree (Bill) Mulholland, Margaret (Bill) Green, John (Beth) Filion, and Michael Filion; also her grandchildren: Christine (Jeff) Gravitt and Jonathon (Kelli) Meyers, Brent (Lisa) and Ryan (Paige) Sawyer, Keira and Colin Sullivan and Carrie (David) Barnes, Nikki (Todd) Jacobs, Elisabeth and Patrick Mulholland, Kaitlin and Alexander (Samantha) Green, Emily Filion and Ashley and Michael Wolf, and Chandler, Jack, and Michael Filion; and her 12 great-grandchildren. Peggy is also survived by her sister, Ruth Hazard Stuart, and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Fulton Manor Nursing Home for their loving and compassionate care of their mother. Although she will be greatly missed by her family, it is with the secure knowledge of her future home in heaven and seeing Dad again. Cremation has taken place and a mass celebrating her life will be Saturday, October 29 at 11:00 a.m. The mass will be held at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 750 Gladstone Dr. S.E., East Grand Rapids, MI.
