Marcia Ellen Herold nee Blake passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at her place of residence. 

She was the widow of Robert (Bob) Herold who preceded her in death in 2007. She leaves behind 3 children. Diane Scott (Joseph) of Arizona, David Herold of Florida, and Barbara (David) Martin of Michigan, 7 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. 

The last 10 years of her life were spent battling the devastation of Alzheimer's. She was lovingly cared for by her youngest daughter Barbara during this time. 

Marcia was fortunate to spend her summers on Barlow Lake, Michigan and it was her last enduring memory at her time of death. 

She lived many places during her adult life. After marriage and the birth of her children, she and her husband left Indianapolis to live in a variety of places in the US and Caribbean. 

She and Bob retired to Barlow Lake as it was their foundation during a lifetime of adventure. 

Marcia will be laid to rest on August 14, 2026 at Ft. Custer National Cemetery next to her husband of 69 years. 

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to an Alzheimer's Association in Marcia's name.
