Mamie John (Florence) Hackenberg, age 91, passed away on the 25th of August 2018 in Holland, Michigan. Mamie was born in Draw, Texas to Lois (Johnson) Florence and Walter Z. Florence. Mamie attended Red Wine High School in Draw, Texas. Mamie and her husband Arthur raised their family in East Brunswick, New Jersey, where she owned her own business as a professional dog groomer. In their early retirement years Mamie and Arthur resided in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Mamie is survived by her children, Gloria Solino, Joann Russo, Jeri Kiel, Judy Butler, and Arthur Hackenberg Jr. Her eight cherished grandchildren, Donnie Solino, Catherine Solino, Bryan Butler, Peter Russo, Gabrielle Russo, Samantha Kiel, Chelsea Muller and Taylor Kiel and her eight beloved great-grandchildren. Mamie is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur J. Hackenberg, her three brothers, Willie, Charles, and JB Florence and her sister Louise Hensley. A Memorial Open House celebrating her life will be held at the auditorium in Freedom Village, 145 Columbia Ave., Holland, Michigan on Friday, August 31 from 1:30-3:30.
