Lyle Edwin Dykhuizen, 81, passed away peacefully on March 21st, 2026.

Lyle grew up in Cascade and lived a life rooted in hard work, humor, and a genuine love for the outdoors. He enjoyed anything that kept him outside like golfing, fishing, hunting, or simply spending time working in the yard.

He proudly served as an Army medic, something he carried with him as one of the most meaningful parts of his life.

Lyle was known for his easygoing nature and quick sense of humor. He didn’t take life too seriously and had a way of making people feel comfortable just by being himself. Even in his final days, he was more concerned about how others were doing than anything else. This was a reflection of the kind of person he was.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Dykhuizen; his parents, Lyle Dykhuizen Sr. and Anne Dykhuizen.

He is survived by his son, Joseph Dykhuizen and his brothers, Curt and Chuck Dykhuizen.

He will be remembered for his kindness, his steady presence, and the way he always made others feel like they mattered.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30pm on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Cascade Christian Church, 2829 Thornapple River Dr SE, Grand Rapids, with a gathering to follow.
