November 18, 1935 – April 13, 2022
"Louis Gerritt Jacobson II aged 86, quietly passed away early morning April 13th, 2022. He is preceded in death by his wife of 30 years Karen Jacobson, Mothers Nellie and Louise Jacobson, Father Louis Jacobson, Sister Alice Jacobson, Daughters in Law Jacqueline Jacobson, and Bonnie Jacobson, Son in Law Bob Hill, and Grandson Jimmy Hill.
Lou leaves behind 7 Kids, LouAnn Hill, David Jacobson, Charlie Jacobson, Gaynell (Chris) Kelley, Penny (Gary) Plowman, Louis Jacobson III, and Joseph (Chris) Jacobson, many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, siblings Sharon Cronk, Darla Stuart, and Mike (Marsha) Jacobson.
In his younger years, Lou was an avid baseball player, Tigers fan, and a professional bowler. He coached many of his kids' little league baseball and softball teams. He was a lifelong outdoorsman who deeply enjoyed hunting and fishing. When not working he could often be found with a cup of coffee and a cribbage board while sitting at his kitchen table. In the last few years, he spent much of his time watching any western that could be found on tv, and the birds that would often come near his kitchen window.
The family would like to thank the people who work at Life Circles for the help that allowed them to take care of him at home these last few years and the team at Holland Hospital for making his last few days as comfortable as possible. He wouldn't have been able to stay at home without the loving care of his Son Louis.
Funeral Service and visitation will be held on Saturday, April 23rd at Trinity United Methodist Church of Grand Rapids Michigan. A short visitation will be held starting at 2 pm, the funeral will follow directly at 3 pm with light dessert and refreshments after.
Per church rules, face masks will be required at all times. Service Details.
