Mrs. Lois Mae Luxford of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away in the comfort of her home on Saturday, December 7, 2019. Lois was born to Gerald and Viola (Brown) Shuck on February 22, 1928, in Grand Rapids, and had been a lifelong resident of the area. Lois was always known for her bright personality and contagious smile that lit up a room. She was at her happiest when surrounded by her family and grandchildren, especially at holiday gatherings and parties. Lois loved to grow her garden, go to the market, and spend time cooking delicious meals in the kitchen. She also enjoyed going fishing, swimming in her pool, and visiting anyone who might be home. Lois will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all those who knew and loved her. Lois is survived by her children, Pam Evans, Micki (Robert) Sullivan, Brian (Dee) Luxford, and Tami (Mike) Lemson; grandchildren Lyman Bristol III, Christie Sullivan, Brandon (Monica) Luxford, and Nikki and Kaleigh Lemson; and great grandchildren Breonna Sullivan, Bella Chambers, Brighton and Addison Luxford, Mason Weatherby, and Lilah Lemson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Thurman Luxford; sister Vera Maczka; and brother Ron Shuck. Relatives and friends may call on the family during a time of visitation from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo Avenue SE, Kentwood, Michigan 49508 The funeral service will be celebrated by Pastor Sean Kidd at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2019, at Ofield Funeral Home. There will be a one-hour visitation prior to the service. Immediately following the funeral service, Lois will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Grand Rapids, MI. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to offer an expression of sympathy are encouraged to make a memorial contribution to Spectrum Health Hospice and Palliative Care -- Spectrum Health Foundation, 100 Michigan Street NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.
