Obituary

Mrs. Lisbeth Anne Lubbers (VanEerden) of Grand Rapids, Michigan, age 79, passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, May 17, 2020.

She was born to Dick and Nellie Cornelia (Hollemans) VanEerden on May 28, 1940, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Lisbeth attended the South Christian High School and Reformed Bible Institute, where she excelled in her academics and God-given talents in vocal and visual arts. She especially loved singing hymns and praying for others.

Lisbeth devoted her life to serving her Lord and Savior through church ministry, child sponsorship with World Vision, and instilling Christian morals and values in her family. Lisbeth was also dedicated to her church family at Fellowship CRC and Trinity CRC.

Lisbeth enjoyed her free time with family, taking camping vacations and being at the lake. Lisbeth's greatest accomplishment in life was being a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother.

Lisbeth is survived by her loving children, Joe Lubbers, Sharon (Mike) Haner, Paul Lubbers, and Betsy (Ken) Berry; grandchildren Jolynne Lubbers, Megan Haner, and Shannon Haner; great grandchildren Leo and Gracelynn Haner; brother Richard (Jacqueline) VanEerden; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other beloved members of the family. She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband of fifty-five years, Marvin Jay Lubbers.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff at Samaritas' The Lodge and Faith Hospice for their kindness and caring over the years.

Due to the restrictions of COVID-19, a Celebration of Life will take place at Fellowship CRC of Grandville at a later date.
