Obituary

Linda Sue Gorton (Lambert), born June 12, 1948 in Paw Paw, Michigan, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 18th, 2024. Linda spent the early years of her life working at Westab/Mead in Kalamazoo. She spent much of her life as a caregiver, working at various nursing homes and provided input on the Alzheimer's Unit at the Allegan County Medical Care Facility. She dedicated a large portion of her life to caring for various family members.

Linda was selfless, sweet, sometimes sassy and sentimental and was considered, by many, to be the family historian. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting and sewing, wordle, dancing, sitting on her front porch swing and spending time with her family. She was always up for adventure. Her handmade and thoughtful gifts will be cherished by generations to come.

Linda is survived by the love of her life and husband of 51 years, Lee Gorton. Children, Rebecca (Craig), Russell (Sarah), Joseph (Heidi) and Angela. Grandchildren (and their significant others), Eric, Orion, Olivia, Ethan, Quinn, Angelica, Joey, Tate, Emma-Leigh, Charlie, Samantha, and Justin. Great-grandchildren, Lyla, Ari, Avalynn, and Trigger. A brother, Chuck Lambert. As well as her sister, and best friend, Connie (Stan) Scheel. Linda was adored by a plethora nieces, nephews and friends. She loved us all fiercely and completely and accepted everyone for who they were.

She was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Shirley Lambert and her siblings, Harry Jr., Sandra Boaz, and Patricia DePlanche.

While there is no way to fully summarize a life well lived, and a person so deeply loved, we cherish the time we had with her and will hold fast to our precious memories of her. Her heart was as big as the sky, and we know that she's looking down on us from the brightest star in the heavens. She will be with us always. Love never dies.

A celebration of life for family will be held at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association .
