Obituary

Linda Louise Cook, age 78 of Wyoming, Michigan peacefully went to spend eternity with her Savior Jesus Christ on August 9, 2026 surrounded by her family.

She was the daughter of Charles and Marjorie Larkin, and spent much of her childhood in Ludington and the surrounding area.

She was a lover of animals, specifically cats. She never met a stray she didn’t bring home and her home was never void of an animal. She also had a very large cat collection. She attended many performances of the Musical "Cats" and loved listening to the soundtrack.

Linda had a big heart for people in need. She opened her home to a handful of family members and friends that needed a place to stay. She took joy in watching her children and grandchildren grow up.

She also had a huge collection of greeting cards and sent them to her people. She loved a good game of scrabble, bingo, or any kind of word puzzle.

She loved Jesus deeply and was a longtime member of Grand Rapids First Assembly and worked there for several years.

Linda is survived by her children Chris (Steve) Groenheide, Richard (Graata) Cook Jr. and Jacilyn Kelly ( Dan) Rynbrandt. Along with her grandchildren Hannah (KJ) Klaassen, Katie (Dana) Spencer, Nicholas Cook, Jackson Cook, Samantha (Phillip Latu) Cook, William (MyCayla Dahl) Cook, Jacob Rynbrandt, Jordyn (Brody) Belka and her great grandsons Gavin, Trey, Grayson, Hudson, Henry, Myles and Callahan. She is also survived by her sister Janice Blue of Starkville, Mississippi and her brothers Jeff Blue of Jacksonville, Florida and Greg Blue of Madison, Alabama, as well as several extended family members. She will be dearly missed by the residents of Pines Oak Apartments where she was on staff since 2017.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in her honor on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at 2 p.m. at the Byron Township Community Center (Room 3), located at 2120 76th St SW, Byron Center, MI 49315.

In lieu of flowers, Linda left specific instructions to please send your donations to C-Snip at 1300 Walker Village Dr, Walker, MI 49534, or any local animal rescue organization.
