wonderful daddy to his children Tammy (Tom) Kretowicz, Kimberly (Mike) Wiggers, and Ed
(Leesa) De Vries. Leo loved his grandchildren and was so proud of them all. Kellie (Nitin)

Leo was one of eleven children. His sister, Treva Lynn Freeman survives him. Leo was known
for his deep love for his family. He taught his daughters how to dance by having them stand on
his feet. He became commissioner of the SKRA when he learned there would not be a girls'
softball league because some people thought that only boys should play on baseball teams. He
(along with his friend, Jack) coached his daughter, Rhonda's championship softball team.
Weekends were spent focusing on his family by taking them to the lake which included fishing,
going for hikes, going to the drive-in, taking them dancing, taking them to church, and countless
other memories.
Leo loved people and was always looking out to help others and make people feel special. He
was a prankster with a quick wit that kept life light and fun. Leo was known for his eclectic music
choices and amazing movie trivia knowledge. He was a master Euchre player, fisherman,
shuffleboard player, and polka dancer. The last night of good health for Leo found him walking
his granddaughter down the aisle to be married on which was his and Arvilla's 63rd wedding
anniversary. He taught and embodied important life lessons such as when working "keep your
hands out of your pockets," and that "a good name is to be chosen rather than great riches.."
Proverbs 22:1.
The day before Leo died, he asked if this was the end. When his family told him that it was, Leo
replied, "What a glorious and wonderful day."
