Mr. Lawrence Eddie Jensen of Kentwood, Michigan, age 91, passed away on December 3, 2018. Lawrence was born on July 4, 1927, in McBride, Michigan. He was a proud WWII veteran. Lawrence is survived by his son Michael (Chris) Jensen; daughter Linda (Kim) Eadie; grandchildren, Ryan (Mary) Eadie, Kyla Eadie, and Kayley (Spencer) LaFontaine; great-grandchildren, Pierce Eadie and Noah LaFontaine; sister Gloria Kerr; brother-in-law Jerry (Jackie) Welch; sisters-in-law Bonnie Welch and Mona Harroun; Mel and Linda Potgeter; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Mary; infant son Mitchell; as well as, several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Lawrence always had a love of flying. He was a mechanic at Northern Air Service for many years. He built his own plane and was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association, Chapter 145. The family would like to thank all the special people from Diversified Medical Staffing including Terri, Mary, and Michelle, who took loving care of him at home. Also, appreciation goes to the people of The Woods at Samaritas and Hospice of Michigan, who helped care for him during his final days. There will be time of visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. and a memorial service will be celebrated by Fr. Troy Nevins at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo Avenue SE, Kentwood, MI 49508. A reception and time of fellowship will immediately follow the service. Per his request, simple cremation has taken place, and Lawrence will be laid to rest in Restlawn Memorial Park.
