Obituary

October 21, 2011 Service: October 24, 2011 L. Glea Frankforter, age 89, passed away surrounded by her children, on October 21st, 2011. A native of Nebraska and an enthusiastic "Cornhusker", dedicated wife, always cheery and gregarious, Glea was a lifelong supporter of the arts in Grand Rapids, particularly as "First Lady" of the Grand Rapids Public Museum for 28 years, in support of her husband, the Museum Director. Surviving her are her husband of 68 years, W.D. "Frank" Frankforter, daughters Mary Emmert and Lori Frankforter, sons Nick (Dawn) Frankforter, Gary (Carol) Frankforter and Matt (Kate) Frankforter, and grandchildren Daniel, Jessica, Noah, Megan, Jason, Victoria (Troy), Christina, Zachary (LeAnn), and Lorri (John), great grandchildren Tori, Sydney, Alix, Erin, Wynter, Trez, Weldon "Justice", Zaniya, Kaley, Taylar, Blaine, and Trey, and great-great grand child Kennedy, along with caring friends and thoughtful neighbors. Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 pm, Monday, October 24, 2011, immediately followed by a funeral service at 3-4 pm, both at Grace Episcopal Church, 1815 Hall Street SE, Grand Rapids, MI, immediately followed by refreshments at Grace Episcopal in a celebration of her life.
