Lambert Carl (Bert) VanderMeer passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior with his wife by his side on March 24, at age 78.
Bert was the proud owner of Top Quality Roofing Company for 35 years. He proudly served his country in the US Army from 1960 to 1963. He was a loving husband, father and grand father. He enjoyed riding his mountain bike, hunting and the outdoors.
Bert was preceded in death by his parents Jacob and Amy VanderMeer, his in-laws Donald and Joyce Redrup and Son-in-law Anthony A Johnson Sr. He is survived by his soul mate and love of his life N. Christine VanderMeer. His three daughters Wendy L Orr (Zachary and Karleigh) Candice J VanderMeer (Shamiya, Josiah, James Jr, Shaelynn), Elizabeth A Johnson-Harmon (Avante) (Anthony Jr, Alyssa, Avarri, Avion). Sisters and brothers Sue Kammeraad of California, Bob and Patty VanderMeer of Dorr, Jerry and Beve VanderMeer of Newaygo, Krista and Tim Slagter of Grand Rapids and Sandra Nichols of Grandville. Brother in law Randy and Toni Redrup, sister in law Sue and Ken VanHorn of Fremont and best friends Jim and Laurie Hull of Alto. Many nieces and nephews.
