IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kurt Allen
Krum
August 10, 1955 – October 17, 2024
Kurt Allen Krum, affectionately known as Kurt, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2024, in Plainwell, Michigan, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on August 10, 1955, in Berwick, Pennsylvania, Kurt was a man of integrity, warmth, and an unwavering sense of humor that brought light into the lives of all who knew him.
Kurt's early years in Berwick, then in Florida when he was two, were filled with the love and guidance of his parents, Arliss and Eleanor Krum, and his siblings. Although preceded in death by his parents and his brother Dennis, Kurt's legacy is carried on through his loving family. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Maureen, and his children, Dawn Johnson and her husband Bryan, and Mark Krum and his wife Sarah. His stepchildren Dara, Virgil, Larry and his wife Tanya, and Jason, also hold dear the memories and lessons Kurt imparted. Kurt's sisters, Debbie Krum, Kathy Conner along with her husband Dick, and his brother Kraig Krum along with his wife Kim, will miss his presence dearly. His aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and grandchildren, all of whom he adored, will forever cherish the times they spent with him.
For 50 years, Kurt dedicated himself to his work as a pipefitter, a testament to his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. His membership in the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union was not just a job but a significant part of his identity, where he formed lifelong friendships and earned the respect of his colleagues.
Kurt's interests reflected his love for life and family. An avid fisherman, he found joy and tranquility in the waters, a pastime that he often shared with friends and family. His grandchildren, in particular, were the recipients of his playful spirit and generous heart. Whether he was telling stories, sharing his fishing tips, or simply being present in their lives, Kurt's interaction with his grandchildren was filled with love and laughter.
Kurt's life was a tapestry woven with the threads of love, hard work, and dedication to those he held dear. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of many, but his spirit will continue to inspire and guide those he touched.
As we bid farewell to Kurt Allen Krum, we celebrate a life well-lived and a man well-loved. His legacy will live on in the memories we hold and the stories we will continue to tell. Kurt's journey through life was marked by the love he gave and the strength he showed, and he will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Kurt's life will be honored in a private ceremony, as per his wishes. His family takes comfort in knowing that he is now at peace, and they are grateful for the time they had with such an extraordinary man. Kurt's memory will be forever etched in our hearts.
