IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kimberly Sue
Harrington
May 6, 1968 – October 3, 2024
Kimberly Sue Harrington, known affectionately to all as Kim, embodied the very essence of joy and compassion throughout her remarkable journey on this Earth. Born on May 6, 1968, in Grand Rapids, MI, Kim's zest for life was evident from her earliest days. She departed from this world, at 56 years old, on October 3, 2024, in Oshtemo Twp, MI, after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and boundless generosity.
Kim's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with the threads of her passions and the love she held for her family. Her daughters, Samantha Adams, Brandie Bronkhorst, and Ashley Brown, alongside her son, Bradley Brown, were the pride of her life. She instilled in them the values of kindness, the joy of discovery, and the importance of creating a life filled with purpose. Although her sister Terri Harrington preceded her in passing. Her parents, Rob & Cindy Harrington, her sisters, Jodi Martin, Morgann Warner, and her brother Rob Harrington and her cherished grandchildren, Alivia Kidd, Bailee Kidd, Victoria Brown, Zachary Brown, and Brycen Brown, added vibrant colors to her tapestry, each sharing special moments that will forever be etched in their hearts.
Kim's interests were as diverse as they were profound. Her love for music was the soundtrack of her existence, providing a backdrop to every meaningful event and a solace during the challenging times. Junking and antiques weren't just hobbies for Kim; they were adventures in storytelling, each item a chapter from the past that she lovingly brought into the present. Her helping hand was extended to anyone in need, her empathy and understanding a balm to those she touched.
Gardening was not just a pastime for Kim; it was an expression of her deep connection to the Earth and the cycles of life. She found solace in the soil, joy in the blooms, and a sense of accomplishment in the beauty she cultivated. Gerbera daisies were her favorite, their bright colors reflecting her optimistic outlook and sunny disposition. Her love for pictures captured moments in time, freezing them in joyous perpetuity, while her affinity for sunshine and the lake spoke to her appreciation for life's simple pleasures.
Kim had a voracious appetite for knowledge, devouring books with an insatiable curiosity that was contagious. Homemade meals were her love language, each dish a testament to her belief in the power of nurturing both body and spirit.
In every endeavor, Kim's life was a testament to the power of positivity. In her, we saw the strength of the human spirit, the ability to find beauty in the struggle, and the unwavering determination to live fully in each moment. Kim faced the challenge of pancreatic cancer with the same courage and positivity that defined her life. She reminded us that even in the face of adversity, there is a strength within each of us that can turn the tide. Her journey may have been cut short, but the path she carved remains an inspiration to all who had the privilege of walking beside her.
To know Kim was to know life in its most vibrant form. She taught us that every day is a gift to be unwrapped with anticipation, that every person we meet is a story waiting to be told, and that every challenge we face is an opportunity to grow stronger. Her legacy is not one of sorrow, but of inspiration. It's a call to all of us to live with the same passion, to spread the same kindness, and to leave the world a little brighter than we found it.
As we say farewell to Kimberly Sue Harrington, let us not dwell on the void left in her absence, but instead, let us fill it with the love she shared so freely. Let us honor her memory by living as she did—with open hearts, open arms, and an unwavering belief in the goodness of life. Kim's spirit, like the gerbera daisies she so loved, will continue to shine brightly, reminding us all to embrace the beauty of life with every breath we take.
We will be having a Celebration of Life on October 27, 2024, at 622 Allegan St, Plainwell, MI 49080. Between 1 pm – 3pm please come join the family & friends of Kim.
