Obituary

Kevin Charles Jones, passed away peacefully from natural causes on November 30, 2024, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Born on May 16, 1979, in Holland, Michigan, Kevin's zest for life and unwavering kindness left an indelible mark on everyone he met.

Kevin grew up in Holland and was a proud product of Holland Public Schools. From an early age, he showed a natural inclination to help others, a trait that would define his personal and professional life. Kevin worked at Metal Flow and LKQ, among several other places in and around Holland, where his colleagues respected him for his work ethic and camaraderie. He was also actively involved in his local community, always willing to lend a hand or share a word of encouragement.

Family was the cornerstone of Kevin's life. He is survived by his loving wife and caregiver, Marcy, his father Terry and stepmother Diane, his mother Cynthia and stepfather Jim, his always supportive in-laws John and Carol, and his siblings: sister Cynarra, brother Andrew and (Jess),his brother in law Roger(Amy), sister in law Amy, step sister Hannah and husband Dave, and step brother Ryan.  Kevin held a special place in his heart for niece Chandra and her daughter Chavy, nephew Drew, newly wed niece Kendra and her husband Caysee, nephew Jonathan and his wife Katie, and nephew Seth. Kevin was a cherished uncle to  her his step-nephews Lucas, Jackson, Coleman, Mason, and Archer, and step-niece Eleanor, and especially his "special niece and nephew", Miss Paisley and Mr. Clay. Kevin is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Kevin will forever be remembered for his boundless love and generosity for everyone.

Kevin's interests were as vast as the great outdoors he adored. He was happiest when he was working on cars, taking long drives to nowhere in particular, or exploring the beauty of nature. Whether it was hiking, fishing, canoeing, cross-country skiing, kayaking, hunting, camping, or simply relaxing by a bonfire or in a hammock, Kevin embraced every moment with enthusiasm. His love for "treasure hunting", playing horseshoes and darts, and spending quality time with friends and family brought joy to those around him.

A man of simple pleasures, Kevin found delight in watching the sunrise and sunset, taking peaceful walks in the woods, and cherishing the company of loved ones. He lived by the well-known quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson, "To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children... to leave the world a better place... to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Kevin indeed succeeded in this and so much more, leaving a legacy of love, laughter, and the tireless pursuit of happiness.

Kevin's absence will be deeply felt by those who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit, however, will continue to inspire us to embrace life with the same passion and kindness that he did every day. As we remember Kevin, let us honor his memory by living fully and helping others, just as he showed us how.

With his departure, the world has lost a truly remarkable soul, but the memories of Kevin Charles Jones will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him. His legacy of kindness, adventure, and unconditional love will continue to guide us through our own journeys. Rest in peace, dear Kevin; your life was a treasure that enriched us all. Continue on your adventure….
