Kerry W. Stephenson, 61, of Otsego, Michigan, passed away on February 5, 2022 after his battle with lung cancer and was accompanied by his daughter at that time.
Kerry was born in Plainwell, Michigan on February 21, 1960, to Donald and Beverly (Vaughn) Stephenson. He graduated from Hopkins High School in 1978 and also received a degree in Automotive and Diesel Technology from Lincoln Technical Institute. He was married to Dawn Toland for seven years and together, they shared two children and a lifelong friendship.
Kerry worked hard for many years as a machinist and a paper mill machine operator at James River Corporation. He spent much of his time building dune buggies, motorcycles, and anything that moved. He enjoyed music, farming, tinkering, driving his many toys, and spending time with his family. He was known for his caring and old-fashioned nature.
Kerry is survived by his mother Beverly and his stepfather Ronald Esterline; his children Heather Stephenson and Scott Stephenson; his grandchildren Amelia and Axel; his siblings Kathy Hastings, Kevin Stephenson, Kraig Stephenson, and Chad Key; his step-siblings; his aunts and uncles; his nieces and nephews; additional family members.
Kerry was preceded in death by his father Donald Stephenson and his brother Allen Stephenson. Cremation has taken place per Kerry's wishes.A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 5th from 1:00PM to 3:00PM at the Otsego Moose Lodge which is located at 740 Lincoln Rd, Otsego, MI 49078.
