Keith Allen Kestel of West Olive, formerly of Brooklyn, Michigan, passed away on February 25, 2023.
He was born February 7, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of William and Helen (Kempinski) Kestel.
He worked in the electronics business as a audio service technician. He repaired and installed audio equipment including speakers and surround sound systems at schools, churches, and auditoriums.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1965-1967. He was a Field Radio Mechanic and wrestler while in the Army. Keith wrestled at the World-wide Military Wrestling Championships in 1965. In both 1965 and 1966 he won the Armed Forces Inter-Service Award (Wrestling Champion).
Keith was known for his outgoing personality, as well as his sense of humor and the many jokes he told. He always had a smile on his face and could put a smile on your face even in the worst of days. In his later years, while at Lee's Manor, he loved to dance and sing karaoke.
Keith loved his daughter Angela with all of his heart. She was his only child, and he adored her throughout his entire life.
Much gratitude goes out to Lee's Manor in West Olive, MI, MediLodge of Holland, and Hospice of North Ottawa Community for assisting in Keith's daily needs during his final years.
Keith is survived by his loving daughter, Angela Workman (Dennis), and two grandchildren Shawna and Derek Workman.
Keith was preceded in death by his brother Dale Kestel, and his parents Helen Kestel and William Kestel.
In honor of Keith's wishes, a memorial service will not take place. Cremation has taken place at Ofield Funeral Home in Grand Rapids, MI.
