IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kathryn Jeanette
Keely
January 21, 1941 – February 23, 2020
Kathryn "Kathy" Keely (nee Wineman), beloved wife and best friend for 58 years of Gerald "Jerry" Keely; loving mom of Amy, Kevin (Kristin Kraai-Keely), and Brian (Jamie Keely-Dickinson); adored grandmother of Gillian, Gabby, Noah and Isaac. Little sister to James Wineman, Velma Kirkpatrick (nee Wineman) and the late Richard Wineman. Sister-in-Law and special Aunt to many. Kathy was born on January 21, 1941 in Flushing, MI. She grew up in Flushing and met her sweetheart, Jerry, while attending Flushing High School from which she graduated in 1960. Kathy and Jerry were married two years later. They raised their children in Flint and Flushing before retiring to Lake Fenton, MI. They ultimately settled in Spring Lake, MI. Kathy worked at General Motors for 25 years where she rose through the ranks from Secretary to Industrial Engineer. She earned her Bachelor's Degree from Northwoods College while working full-time and raising her family. When she wasn't working, Kathy loved to be by the water. Whether camping on a lake, sitting on a deck, or riding on a boat, she enjoyed the lakeside ambiance. She loved painting, reading, jewelry making, and any kind of music with a big beat. Kathy had a strong faith which was evident in her regular presence at church. She enjoyed attending church services with her extended family, teaching Sunday school and singing with her sister. She cherished the time spent with her siblings and their children. Mostly though, she loved her husband, kids, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and her late parents, Floyd and Jewell. Kathy was gentle hearted and quick to embrace you like her own. She had a quiet strength and a great love for "her" Jerry. Shefought her health related battles with dignity and grace. She was a breast cancer survivor and succumbed to Alzheimer's on February 23, 2020 following years of living through its affects. Her warmth, love and compassion will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at the Grandville Church of Christ, 3725 44th Street SW, Grandville, MI 49418. Visitation at 10:00 am. Service at 11:00 am with luncheon immediately following. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer's Association at act.alz.org
