On Sunday, February 18th, 2018, Kathleen Anne (Lamkin) Kott; mother, grandmother, loving wife and sister, passed away after a battle with cancer. Kathy, always the cat lover, had no interest in moving on to her next great adventure without her boys Tanner and Bart. They will be meeting Whiskers who has patiently waited for them. Kathy was born on a windy and snowy 23-degree day in Muskegon, Michigan on March 5th, 1954 to William R Lamkin and Lorraine M Lamkin. Kathy wasn't the first born in the family and she wasn't the last, but I bet Dan will say that she was the best. Kathy mostly loved her big brothers, Michael and Patrick (They did induce her claustrophobia as a child, by leaving her in a hole, after all) and she loved her little sister Anne. Kathy grew up, went to college and earned an Associates of Business degree. Later, she decided to attend ITT to pursue an Associates in Electronics and that fateful decision led to her meeting Dan. The two of them met in 1989 and 2 short years later they married on November 23rd, 1991. Kathy had two children from a previous marriage: Heather (VanDrunen) and Robert (Corlew). Kathy and Dan's first child together was the aforementioned fur baby Whiskers who was an amazingly fluffy black cat. Kathy utilized her degrees by working for companies such as A&C Carriers, where she routinely fixed the office equipment along with her actual role in accounting and Star Truck Rentals, where she did accounts payable and receivable. Kathy and Dan loved to camp together and did so as often as they could. It was a chance for them to get away and just enjoy each other's company. As mentioned, Kathy loved her fur babies, but she also loved visiting lighthouses and had an affinity for sea-life such as dolphins. She also really liked penguins even if some of them were really… seagulls. Kathy was a grandmother to Melody, Johnathan and Mackenzie (Heather) and Madilynn and Kyndal (Robert). Her fur babies were Whiskers, Tanner and Bart, who were also amazingly fluffy cats. Kathy was a sister to Michael W Lamkin (Geralyn), Patrick R Lamkin (Maryann) and Anne T Fauset (Ray). Kathy was a loving wife to Daniel Lee Kott and the two of them had 26 wonderful years together and made many amazing memories. Kathy was preceded by her parents William and Lorraine and her fur babies. Kathy will also be dearly missed by Dan's family: Joan Glomb, Jerry Kott (Ellen), Deb Kolk (Bob) and Melissa Seelye (John).
