March 7, 2013 DeKoster - Kathleen "Kay" Ann DeKoster (Andres), born 11/26/1928, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, March 7, 2013. She was a graduate of Catholic Central High School, and was a founding member of St. Mary Magdalen Church where she was heavily involved with the Women's Guild. In her early years she was a foster mother to more than two dozen infants through Catholic Social Services. Kay lived a long and happy life as a wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many and volunteering her time and kindness to those less fortunate. She is survived by her husband, Edward DeKoster; eight children: Elaine Ogden (Mike), Janice Wilson, Carol Capes (Scott), Marilyn Chapel (Rick), Tom DeKoster, Diane DeKoster, Bob DeKoster, Jim DeKoster (Kris); six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three siblings, Helen Homrich (Ken), James Andres, Joanne Harig (Maynard). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Wednesday, March 13 at 11:00 AM at St. Pius X Church, 3937 Wilson Ave SW. The family will meet with friends Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Ofield Funeral Home. Interment Pine Hill Cemetery.
