Joyce Mencarelli, age 88, from Grand Rapids MI, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 23rd, 2019. She was born July 3rd, 1930 in Bellaire, MI. Joyce was a 1947 Valedictorian Graduate from Bellaire High School and received a Nursing Degree from Blodget Nursing. Joyce loved to attend church with her family. In her free time she loved to garden and she made the best potato salad and lemon meringue pie. Joyce is survived by her loving husband, Harry Mencarelli of 66 years, their daughter, Jill Witeveen and son in law, Steve Witteveen. She is also survived by her brother, Jim McKenney and his wife Linda McKenney; her two grandchildren, Jason Witteveen and Sierra Ayers, 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded to Glory by her parents, Cora and Harry, her daughter Lynn and grandson Justin. The family would like to thank Faith Hospice for their care and compassion during their time caring for Joyce. The Celebration of Life for Joyce Mencarelli will be held on June 2nd, 2019 at Ofield Funeral Home located at 4500 Kalamazoo Ave SE Kentwood, MI 49528. The Celebration is at 2:00 with lunch to follow. Pastor Bernie Blauwkamp from Resurrection Life Church in Grandville, MI is honored to be a part of Joyces Celebration of Life. This is one of her favorite scriptures. She was Heaven-minded every day. For this God is our God for ever and ever, he will be our guide even unto death. PS 48:14
