Karl Ross Goodspeed Sr., 71-year-old Navy veteran, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 5, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Esther Eileen Buchanan and James Wesley Converse, Darl Ivan Goodspeed and James (NOD) Buchanan. Karl was survived by his wife, Shirley; sisters, Linda Goodspeed, Lynne Nichparenko; brother, Wesley Converse; children, Angela Goodspeed Roberts and Karl Ross Goodspeed Jr.; grandsons, Jeff Goodspeed, Branden, Johnathan, Nathan, Khristian and his great-grandsons, Wesley, Desmond and Ryker. He was a loving husband, dad, brother, friend, grandpa and coworker. He retired from the City of Grand Rapids in 2012. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 from from 4:00-8:00 PM at St Paul's United Methodist Church (3334 Breton Rd. SE Grand Rapids, MI 49512 - 616.949.0880) A burial service will be held in May at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
