On Monday, March 8, 2021, Kaitlin Ann (Kremers) Lyons, the most wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend to many passed away at the age of 34 after a brave, two-year fight with brain cancer. She was surrounded by family and friends.
Kaitlin was born on November 11, 1986 in Grandville, MI to Jeff and Sue Kremers. She graduated from Grandville High School in 2005, then went on to earn a degree in K-12 Special Education from Grand Valley State University. After college, she taught special education at Thornapple Kellogg Page Elementary School and led the Grand Rapids Young Life's special needs program, Capernaum, where she met her husband, Spencer Lyons. They were married on July 7, 2012 and had two delightful children together, Hudson (5) and Olive (3).
Kaitlin will be remembered for many things: her tenacity on the athletic field, her fun and easy going spirit, her devotion to her family, her strength during cancer treatment, and a heart that was always overflowing with encouragement and kindness for others. Kaitlin had the absolute best smile! If you met her once, you would remember it forever. She loved Jesus and demonstrated tremendous faith in His plan for her life. We envision her sitting with Him now on a beach in Heaven, eating ice cream, and talking about how they will spend eternity together.
Left to carry on her love and memory are her husband Spencer, children Hudson and Olive, parents Jeff and Sue Kremers, siblings Stephanie & Chris McKellar, Courtney & Joshua Gramm, Cody & Meghan Kremers, and Scott Kremers, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, in-laws, and countless friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Crossroads Church on Scribner Ave in Grand Rapids, MI at 10 o'clock am followed by a funeral service at 11 o'clock am in the same location.
